Leadership
Matthew Vroom is the Founder of Atrium Real Estate Group, where he leads all company activities, including sourcing, underwriting, development, capital structuring, and deal execution. He brings over two decades of experience and possesses a deep expertise across a wide spectrum of real estate asset classes.
Since founding Atrium Real Estate Group, Mr. Vroom has demonstrated a strong track record in acquiring and repositioning industrial and office properties, notably a 3.7-acre Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) site, a 22,500 square foot industrial property, and a 45,000 square foot office building slated for a 43,000 square foot expansion. His expertise further encompasses asset management, as evidenced by overseeing $5 million in capital improvements and full-floor tenant build-outs for two Manhattan office buildings on behalf of a family office, and providing strategic advisory and asset management for a New York-based Hedge Fund's diverse portfolio valued at over $1 billion. Mr. Vroom has also successfully originated $122 million in senior debt for a Dallas office campus as a third-party capital advisor and advised lending institutions on over $4 billion in loan originations. Additionally, he has conducted highest-and-best-use analyses on ground-up development projects exceeding $1 billion for owners in the Tri-state area and Florida.
Before establishing Atrium, Mr. Vroom was the Head of Development & Acquisitions at Time Square Development, a family office with a focus on the Tri-State area. During his tenure, he was responsible for over $400 million in real estate transactions, actively managing all phases of the firm's investments and developments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vroom oversaw mixed-use development in the Northeast at Archstone-Smith, where he was instrumental in accumulating more than two million square feet of development rights within the firm's pipeline. He also contributed significantly in a similar role at Forest City Residential.
Academically, Mr. Vroom holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from Bentley University, complemented by a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University’s prestigious Schack Institute of Real Estate.
